Concerning the rating of Grand Prix events, the top eight entrants would be a better guage of the tournaments' strength [than the top eight finishers]. The top eight finishers do not necessarily represent the difficulty of an event. A 4 handicap may defeat more than one 0 handicap and finsih in the top eight, thus not reflecting the true nature of the competition.

You're right, and we have made this correction and several others in the 1997 edition of THE NEW AMERICAN GRAND PRIX. We have also added two strong tournaments which help to round out the geographical spread of the 17 Grand Prix events: the Delaware Invitational and the Firestone Invitational.
